The Bluebird Car & Coach Park

A brand-new Coppermines amenity now open in Coniston village in the heart of the Lake District National Park

Visit the spectacular Coppermines Waterfalls, enjoy some incredible hiking or head down to Coniston Water lakeshore, there is so much to do from perfectly located Lake District car park.

Opened Easter 2025, The Bluebird Car and Coach Park, a Coppermines initiative in Coniston, Lake District has parking for 70 cars.

Once complete, the parking facilities will include 6 EV charging points, disabled parking and reserved spaces for 6 coaches.

Here, visitors will be able to park safely and responsibly then explore the surrounding area of Coniston, Coniston Water and Coppermines Valley.

More than simply a place to park your car, The Bluebird Car and Coach Park will be a hub for sustainable onwards transport and outdoor activities.

Located at the foot of the Coniston fells including Coniston Old Man, visitors can hike the fells, visit the nearby waterfalls, head down to the lake shore and explore the shops, cafes and pubs within the village.

Located just next door to The Ruskin Museum, the home of Donald Campbell’s Bluebird K7 Jet Hydroplane, a new accessible footpath will connect the car park to the museum, providing much needed safe and reliable parking for all visitors to the museum.
