Trial opening weekend of 21st March 2025

Bluebird Car and Coach Park Trial opening weekend

On Friday 21st March, The Bluebird Car and Coach Park opened for visitors for the first time. Under blue, spring skies we welcomed cars filled with visitors to Coniston, who were able to enjoy walks in the sunshine and explore the fantastic independent shops, pubs and cafes of the village.

It was poignant that the Bluebird Car Park should open the weekend of what would have been Donald Campbell’s 104th birthday. His daughter, Gina Campbell, was in Coniston for a memorial service at his graveside in the village and was pleased to see the car park open and welcoming visitors, calling it a much needed and valuable amenity for her and her father’s beloved Coniston.

There is still work to do to complete the public loos, information centre and e-bike hire shop so the car park is currently open offering reduced price all day parking at just £6.

And with so much to see and do in the area, it’s excellent value for a full day parking within the Lake District National Park.

The work to finish the car park’s amenities continues, so follow us on Facebook for regular updates.
